We are currently seeking an Outside Board Sales Specialist.

The Board Sales Specialist will have full responsibility to set up and manage the wood panel product line. He/she will be responsible for developing and maintaining productive customer relationships and for providing customers with quotes and special orders. The Board Sales Specialist will spend a great deal of time in the field, both meeting with customers individually and riding with other outside Territory Managers that sell from the entire Company catalog. The position is responsible for being sure incoming purchase orders are entered promptly and accurately by relaying pertinent information to other departments and providing exceptional customer service. It is expected that the Board Sales Specialist will work to identify and develop new and emerging panel markets by gathering/sharing market intelligence and providing input regarding product mix, pricing, inventory levels and demand outlook. The Board Specialist will uphold company standards in regards to pricing and profitability. The Board Sales Specialist may attend trade shows and may be asked to travel to other markets, on occasion. The Company is a casual environment, but it is fast-paced and will require great multi-tasking efforts.


Core Responsibilities:

  • Prepare price quotes for customers
  • Negotiate with customers on price, lead times, etc.
  • Assist in new product development by offering advice, relaying trends or demand, and promoting new products
  • Develop market plans to generate revenue
  • Participate in proactive selling, including promoting core products and services and completing required follow up
  • Make outgoing calls to profitably grow sales within existing customer base with or without field sales reps
  • Coordinating with Customer Service Representatives, Inventory Specialists, and Sales Operations to ensure accurate order processing, consistent product availability and complete, on-time deliveries


Requirements:

  • Prior sales and marketing experience with strong knowledge of wood panel products
  • Proven ability to develop and execute an integrated marketing, purchasing and sales strategy
  • Demonstrated customer development and relationship skills
  • Confidence and self-motivation to initiate sales calls, ask for the order and overcome objections
  • Strong knowledge of factors influencing profitability, including pricing, margin, costs and working capital management
  • Strong problem solving skills with ability to effectively handle multiple priorities
  • Ability to effectively handle multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
  • Computer literacy and ability to learn new software / technologies
